This 1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible Is One Sleek Machine

Chicago Car Club is excited to offer you the opportunity to own this beautiful blue 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible. Well-maintained and garage-kept, this beauty was restored about 20 years ago and is still in fantastic shape. This sleek convertible is bound to turn a few heads whether pulling in to the local car show hangout or just cruising over to the grocery store.

This GTO retains the original YS-Code 389 cui V8 engine that fires right up on the first turn. Shifting power is provided by an automatic Powerglide transmission. Truly dialed-in, this GTO convertible drives beautifully, pulls hard through the gears, and shifts smoothly.

In the late ‘90s, this car was given a full restoration. Once painted Tiger Gold, during the restoration process, it went through a color change to dark blue metallic. It's current hue shines slightly purple in direct sunlight and shows more of a midnight blue in dim lighting. A gold pinstripe was added possibly to pay tribute to its long-gone original gold hue.

The car sits on 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels wrapped with Firehawk Indy 500 tires. It features both power steering and brakes that make maneuvering and halting the car a breeze.

According to the listing, the interior was documented as gold just like its previous exterior, but now this spacious interior features a blue vinyl interior that matches its current exterior color and is in great shape. The odometer reads 73,510 miles and is said to be accurate. Tunes flow through a Kenwood Controller and CD changer.

The body is nice and straight with no dents, dings, or scuffs, and the power convertible top is in excellent condition. All glass and lenses are clear and free of cracks, and all polished surfaces shine bright. Underneath, the car is structurally sound and features solid black metal throughout. Most of the suspension components still appear new and have been installed over fifteen years ago.
