Sporting a numbers-matching engine and correct paint job.

If you have been in the market for a true and clean 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, then here is your calling. Ideal Classic Cars is pleased to announce this pristine example for your consideration. It would make the perfect addition to your garages, whether as a show car, collectible, or even a daily driver. This Camaro Z/28 looks the part, plays the part, and will become a big part of your life.

1969 was the first year that the Chevrolet Camaro saw any significant changes. So it’s no surprise that this model year was, and still remains, one of the most popular muscle/pony cars to date. Specifically, the body panels were updates to emit a more aggressive pony car appearance. The mechanical underpinnings for the 1969 Camaro, however, stayed the same. Inside, the round gauges from the previous models were replaced by square ones–a design that would inspire the gauges in the fifth-generation Camaro.

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is the real deal and a true classic. It’s wearing the correct Cortez Silver paint with black stripes and a “halo” black vinyl top. At the front, is a fiberglass ZL2 ducted hood, an option which the dealer possibly installed at the time. Other highlights include power front disc brakes, Winter’s aluminum intake, power quick steering, a Hurst shifter, and an NC8 dual-chambered exhaust. The cabin of this ‘Maro features the correct black “custom” vinyl interior in exceptional condition with bucket seats and a center console. This beautiful Z/28 rides on Chevy Rally wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wide Tread GT tires. It looks as though this classic just rolled off the assembly line at the Norwood plant in Ohio.

Under the hood of this Z/28 is a number-matching “DZ” code 302 cubic-inch V8 that is mated to a four-speed Muncie manual transmission and 12-bolt Posi Traction rear end with 4.10 gears. This bad boy was made to show off on the track with its lighter bodyweight, potent drivetrain, and high-performance Z/28 upgrades. The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was made for the SCCA Trans-American racing homologation in which engine sizes could not go over 5,000cc (or 305 c.i.). And so, the special “DZ” code 302 cubic-inch V8 was created and included 11:1 compression, a forged crankshaft, forged pistons and connecting rods, solid lifters, and a dual-plane intake topped with a Holley carburetor. The Z/28 powerhouse classic pony car was manufactured to compete with the likes of the Mustang Boss 302 and the Trans Am Javelins in its day.
