This stunning color was only available for one year.

At first glance, this 1956 Ford Thunderbird looks gorgeous in its Sage Green paint job and two-tone interior. It just goes to show that not every car needs a high-impact, bright exterior to turn heads and stand out. This limited-edition Green color was only available for 1956 on just 4 percent of total Thunderbird units. Streetside Classics is excited to offer up this rare beauty with just 21,636 miles on the dash.

Various changes took place for the Ford Thunderbird’s sophomore year in 1956. The main goal was to add more room in the trunk; after all, this was an upscale luxury cruiser. The additional trunk space was achieved by moving the spare wheel to the outside. 1956 is a very popular favorite among enthusiasts for this reason, as this was the only year that had the ornamental continental kit standard. That, combined with the low production rate of this color, makes this example a truly rare, valuable, and sought-after collectible.

This iconic 1956 Ford Thunderbird is a distinctive icon and has all the features you love about the first-generation T-bird. Its elegance cannot be mistaken – those long flowing body lines, sporty hood scoop, continental rear kit, after-burner taillights, and rear fender skirts. This model comes with both the white convertible top and the white porthole hardtop. When attached, these tops provide a cool two-tone appearance against the pastel green exterior hue.

This 1956 Thunderbird was first restored approximately 25 years ago and includes a few upgrades. For example, the fog lights were integrated into where the dual bullets were in the front grille. The Thunderbird Green, or Sage Green, paint job was done later in its life and was treated to a professional re-application only five years ago. Even the undercarriage is green. If you’re a fan of the exterior, then you’re going to be head-over-heels for the interior. The color switchover in the cabin was so thorough that everything looks correct right down to the steering wheel. The interior includes two-tone plush carpeting, plexiglass speedometer window, tachometer, power windows, a floor shifter, and machined-turned panel that floors from the doors across the lower dashboard.

A true show car, this 1956 T-bird will stun audiences with its immaculate engine bay too. The smooth green engine is contrasted by the red block and chrome accessories – all of which show signs of proper care and a good life. The 312 cubic-inch V8 engine is correct for this P-code car and is believed to be the original block. It’s topped with a four-barrel carburetor and mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. The power steering and power brakes add to the enjoyable ride and add to the effortless feeling.

This 1956 Thunderbird firs right up and runs great. It also comes with the owner’s manual. Make this collectible yours today and call before this green dream finds its next owner.
