An expression of pure Mopar American muscle.

GAA Classic Car Auctions is hosting their next event from Thursday, July 25, 2019 until Saturday, July 27, 2019. More than 600 vehicles are scheduled to show at the no-reserve auction. The B5 Blue 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee you see here will run on that Thursday, along with 190 other vehicles and nearly 40 piece of classic memorabilia. At first glance, the stunning Mopar blue paint stands out and hugs every inch and curve of this Super Bee. This particular example has undergone a frame-up restoration, meaning the body, paint, motor, interior, and trunk were likely reworked. It appears to be in great condition from the inside out and has a show-worthy engine bay.

You may be wondering what the term “Coronet” means? Well, the dictionary defines it as a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed upon a metal ring. That name is certainly well-appointed here, as this Coronet Bee is royally beautiful. This example is wearing the correct B5 Bright Blue Paint (WM 21 Coupe) with the correct Super Bee rear deck stripe as well. On the outside, you will find a factory dual scoop hood, Rally wheels wrapped in 15-inch BFGoodrich Radial tires, and a remote driver’s door side mirror. Even the correct fender tag can be found still mounted on the fenders.

All of the chrome on this vehicle has been finished to an immaculate luster and meets show standards. The black interior is adorned with a woodgrain dashboard for an accented look. It houses the factory gauges and tachometer, along with the factory shoulder harness and new Super Bee floor mats.

The pictures may not be of the highest quality, but it’s not hard to see that this Super Bee is a stunner. The previous owner certainly took good care of it and restored it to admirable quality. This model is powered by a 383 Magnum V8 engine mated to a factory A833 four-speed transmission with a pistol grip shifter. The combination results in a whopping 335 horsepower, which was certainly a great deal of power at that time. The engine bay is super clean and houses the correct factory Hi-Pro manifolds.

This 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee comes with an original copy of the build sheet. Dodge built a total of 1,336 Super Bee four-speed coupes that year. That makes this an incredibly rare find and a highly valuable one at that. Whoever leaves with this beauty will have a wonderful treasure to add to their collection and, hopefully, enjoy.
