Last Hand-Built M-Car: 1991 BMW M5

These days, it seems like just about everyone loves BMW M-Cars, especially those from the ‘80s and ‘90s. How can you blame them? If you've ever gone for a ride in one of these cars, you would immediately recognize the near-perfect balance of luxury and performance. As the last ever M-Car to ever be hand-built, the E34 M5 surprisingly doesn't always get the love that it deserves, but if you're a fan of this sporty saloon, take a look at this pristine 1991 BMW M5.

Vintage Motorcars in Madison, WI offers this example for sale. They claim that this sedan was garage kept, restored just six years ago, and was also a California car for the past ten years of its life. Because of that, the exterior of this M5 is in fantastic shape, with the seller claiming the vehicle has never been in an accident.

Inside the cabin, everything is in similarly fantastic condition. The grey interior has no rips in the leather seats nor any issues with the carpeting, and it also benefits from the recent installation of a new headliner. There are also factory options present, such as a sunroof and a 6 disc CD changer. Additionally, the dashboard material remains uncracked, which is always a plus on any vehicle from the ‘80s and ‘90s.

Each U.S.-spec E34 M5 uses a 3.6-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, which pairs to a 5-speed manual transmission to drive the rear wheels. From the factory, this car made 310 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque, which resulted in a 6.3-second time in the 0-60 mph sprint. Supposedly, this example runs and drives like it just came off the showroom floor, even though it has 79,117 miles on it.
