Candy Apple Green: 1989 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pro Mod

Last fall, I picked up a 1988 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 as a daily driver. Months later, I’m still daily driving the truck, but I’m also constantly trying to dissuade myself from modifying it in any way. With that said, seeing this extensively customized 1989 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 Pro Mod doesn’t exactly help me stifle those urges.

Skyway Classics in Palmetto, Florida offers this unique Silverado for sale. They state that this truck is “ready to show, cruise or use as your driver on nice days,” and after viewing the widespread changes made to this truck, it seems this is a fair assessment.

This regular cab, short bed model has seen lots of changes to its exterior, such as clear light lenses all around, a relocated tailgate handle, a cowl hood, a custom front valance, and a rear bumper with integrated Corvette taillights. And of course, there’s the Candy Apple Green paint job, which is impossible to miss.

Under the hood, you’ll find a 468 cu.-in. V8, which pairs to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end. The engine also features full-length Hooker headers with dual Flowmaster mufflers, an aluminum air gap with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor with a clear air cleaner, a nitrous system, electric fans, and more. Oh, there’s also a line lock system present, in case you want those big rear tires to blow off a bit of smoke.

The seller describes the cabin as “a nice blend of stock 1989 Chevy and custom features,” and I’d have to say I agree. Two individual bucket seats replace the stock bench seat, and a custom center console housing a B&M shifter sits in between the two seats. There are also other comfort features present, such as an aftermarket CD player, various gauges, power steering, and air conditioning.
